[0:01]
good morning YouTube so after nine
[0:03]
months of sharing my life on this
[0:07]
platform I'm finally applying for
[0:08]
monetization on my account I want to
[0:11]
explain what that means moving forward
[0:12]
so that you're
[0:14]
aware
[0:16]
so for 9 months YouTube has been making
[0:19]
money off of my channel I've known this
[0:21]
since the beginning I understand how the
[0:23]
platform
[0:25]
works I didn't think it was fair
[0:30]
I've been generating content for nine
[0:31]
months over 500 videos and I don't see
[0:34]
any of the revenue from that you have to
[0:37]
tolerate all kinds
[0:39]
of toxic and abusive behavior on
[0:44]
here but I put all of that aside because
[0:47]
I was getting something out of it
[0:49]
myself my own personal
[0:52]
growth watching my journey
[0:55]
unfold these were things that mattered a
[0:57]
great deal to me and I'm completely
[1:00]
different from the person I was from my
[1:01]
first video
[1:04]
so I enjoyed sharing my life with people
[1:08]
I
[1:10]
enjoyed
[1:13]
it I tried really hard
[1:17]
to give people something that they could
[1:19]
learn from something that could help
[1:21]
them in their own lives and I hope that
[1:22]
I
[1:25]
did but you know what it's really hard
[1:28]
to be on YouTube because
[1:30]
you do put up with a lot of
[1:32]
abuse you just do I'm going to name what
[1:35]
is an actual
[1:37]
fact and because of that I decided the
[1:40]
only way I would stay on this platform
[1:41]
is if I could monetize the channel and
[1:43]
then take my videos and put them into
[1:44]
their subscription service so that I can
[1:47]
limit the number of people who see my
[1:49]
channel who interact with me on it and
[1:52]
so that's the goal if they approve me
[1:54]
for monetization all of my channels are
[1:56]
going to go into the subscription
[1:58]
service I'll make some videos
[2:01]
occasionally for a wider audience that I
[2:04]
don't think
[2:05]
will result in some of the fragmentation
[2:09]
and abuse that I've experienced on here
[2:12]
but largely I'll keep sharing my life in
[2:15]
the same way that I always have only I I
[2:18]
will limit engagement on
[2:21]
it because I'm such a real person
[2:24]
because I'm not fragmented I'm not
[2:27]
compartmentalized and I just speak the
[2:29]
truth I speak
[2:31]
exactly what I
[2:35]
see I've always had concerns that
[2:38]
YouTube might try to reject my me for
[2:41]
moneti
[2:42]
monetization you know I think that
[2:44]
that's a a real
[2:46]
possibility I think that they have a
[2:48]
very convoluted process for this I'm in
[2:50]
the Second Step where they're just
[2:51]
linking an AdSense account it says it
[2:53]
can take up to three weeks as a
[2:55]
programmer since the sixth grade I
[2:57]
understand what's really happening here
[3:00]
and then after that step it can take a
[3:02]
month for them to review your account so
[3:04]
it could be up to two months before I
[3:06]
even have an answer to
[3:08]
this this
[3:12]
has this has only made me even more
[3:16]
hesitant to keep posting on here because
[3:18]
I understand what's happening they're
[3:20]
going to keep generating Revenue off of
[3:23]
my channel and keeping all of it while
[3:27]
putting me through their corporate
[3:28]
process to decide if I'm a good enough
[3:30]
human being to deserve monetization on
[3:32]
the platform that they're they're taking
[3:34]
money from from my content from my
[3:37]
life so I don't know what's going to
[3:39]
happen between then and now this might
[3:41]
just be the last video I have up here
[3:43]
just sitting here while I wait to hear
[3:45]
what they decide to
[3:46]
do if they reject me I will delete my
[3:50]
channel because I'm not going to be
[3:53]
judged by a corporation for being a real
[3:55]
human being on here
[4:01]
so yeah we'll see what happens
