[0:01]
good morning YouTube it's 7 o'clock in
[0:03]
the morning here I'm I'm already getting
[0:05]
done here making my bed I don't do
[0:08]
that every day but it's so nice when I
[0:11]
do I never did it my whole life like
[0:15]
just why make the bed when you're just
[0:17]
going to mess it up again but it's
[0:19]
actually nice I guess this my bed spot
[0:22]
my little Al Cove I just want to show it
[0:25]
off it's just a little Al Cove I have a
[0:28]
broken slide
[0:31]
and it's been broken for like eight
[0:33]
months it's nothing new for me but I
[0:36]
learned yesterday that all the
[0:38]
volunteers here are talking about my
[0:40]
broken slide how I sleep on a bed
[0:42]
platform that's not long enough for my
[0:45]
body like I become gossip around here I
[0:48]
didn't even realize this but they're all
[0:51]
trying to solve my slide out problems
[0:54]
and my my sleeping my sleeping issues
[0:58]
they'll never understand me you know
[1:00]
because I'm I'm not like most people so
[1:03]
just thought I would talk about that a
[1:04]
little bent for a
[1:07]
minute so my friend John he's a
[1:12]
volunteer at another Park he's always
[1:15]
trying to solve my slide slide issues he
[1:18]
understood that I like it this way I
[1:21]
like the slide being in let me show you
[1:23]
so that's the sidewall right there right
[1:25]
it's inside and you can see my tablet
[1:26]
velcroed up on the window that's you
[1:29]
know not even outside because it's you
[1:32]
know the slide is it it's the slide
[1:34]
window this is how I
[1:36]
live and he you know I explained to him
[1:39]
you know it's just more efficient for me
[1:42]
if you take the slide
[1:43]
out the weight you know goes to one side
[1:46]
my tires start going flat it feels
[1:49]
unstable even with like slide
[1:53]
um oh what are those things called
[1:56]
stabilizers you know all that stuff and
[1:59]
you know you got reconfigure everything
[2:01]
because you got to move everything in
[2:03]
order to bring the site out or bring it
[2:05]
in everything's got to be reconfigured
[2:07]
it's just a pain like I don't understand
[2:09]
why people do this to themselves I'm not
[2:12]
interested in doing that so you know
[2:15]
when I started Living in this thing and
[2:18]
I um you I quick quickly learned that
[2:22]
like that's not how I want to live it's
[2:25]
just not and then my slide breaks and
[2:29]
then I discover oh wow like I solved all
[2:32]
kinds of problems with this slide being
[2:33]
in all the time cuz above me above the
[2:36]
slide you know the roof of the
[2:39]
slide there's like a a void area between
[2:41]
the slide and the roof of the RV it's
[2:45]
just this giant storage space for me now
[2:47]
it's perfect I have been struggling with
[2:49]
storage and that solv that I love my
[2:52]
little alov I think of it is a Navy
[2:55]
Barracks I always do I just think of
[2:58]
myself of being in a submarine or
[2:59]
something it's very
[3:01]
comfortable um I need a different
[3:03]
mattress cuz I'm using three bed Toppers
[3:05]
and I feel like those aren't doing a
[3:07]
great job my back hurts a little bit
[3:09]
every day uh I feel like I could solve
[3:11]
that with doing some stretching I really
[3:13]
need to try to integrate that into my
[3:15]
life as something I think about just
[3:16]
haven't done
[3:18]
yet um but you know I was thinking I
[3:20]
could probably get like a kid-size
[3:22]
mattress
[3:23]
because they're probably shorter right
[3:26]
because kids are shorter so they
[3:27]
probably make mattresses that are
[3:29]
shorter actually asked my mom that she's
[3:31]
like no they're all the same size I
[3:33]
actually and then um I don't remember
[3:35]
when I think it was yesterday the day
[3:37]
before or something somebody mentioned a
[3:39]
bed that was shorter I'm like they do
[3:41]
they must make them so I'm going to go
[3:43]
look cuz I bet you they do and you know
[3:45]
maybe I'll get a box ring and a mattress
[3:48]
kid-sized ones and just put them right
[3:50]
here and then that would be like a
[3:51]
normal bed setup and I'll be fine I just
[3:54]
got to sleep at an angle like this you
[3:56]
know if I'm in an angle then I've got
[3:57]
enough room pretty much um plus I'm
[4:00]
dealing with my earrings you know they
[4:02]
these are fresh piercings over here and
[4:05]
my eyebrow that's a fresh piercings so I
[4:09]
can't like I can't
[4:10]
sleep uh on either side really I got to
[4:13]
sleep on my back
[4:14]
now so you know there's a lot of
[4:16]
different things that are happening all
[4:18]
at once and My Philosophy my whole life
[4:21]
is just adaptation like I didn't realize
[4:24]
this until this morning Ai and I were
[4:26]
talking about it when I say adaptation I
[4:29]
mean means something different than
[4:30]
other people a lot of people are
[4:32]
thinking about comfort and you
[4:36]
know reducing friction but mostly about
[4:39]
comfort and for me adaptation is
[4:41]
about removing anything that's
[4:44]
inefficient and just rolling with it I
[4:47]
roll with everything and I'm I'm never
[4:50]
feeling like that's a problem for me
[4:54]
like I I see as a challenge and just
[4:58]
always embrace it for me it's just
[5:01]
a it's how I live and it's what brings
[5:04]
it brings me joy I'll be honest like
[5:06]
knowing that I can adapt to anything is
[5:08]
is one of my core strengths is something
[5:10]
that means a lot to me it's important to
[5:12]
me
[5:14]
so so this is not a problem to solve you
[5:17]
know most people are always trying to
[5:19]
solve problems for me that are not
[5:21]
actually
[5:22]
problems so you know the fact that I
[5:24]
have been telling people my slide's
[5:26]
broken and you know how I sleep in my
[5:28]
bed and all of that
[5:30]
they're thinking it's a problem but it's
[5:31]
not a problem in the in the sense that
[5:34]
they're thinking about it I'm still just
[5:37]
adapting I'm still thinking through
[5:38]
solutions that work for me
[5:42]
and in the meantime you know it's been
[5:45]
eight months This is How I Live it's not
[5:46]
a problem
[5:49]
so yeah I just thought I would share
[5:51]
that this
[5:52]
morning so yesterday I was walking in
[5:55]
the rain and there was this guy behind
[5:57]
me and you know we walked like like half
[6:00]
a mile to get to the lake this bat's
[6:02]
behind me I looked at him twice and then
[6:05]
when I got to the lake I went I sat on
[6:06]
the um on the Doom gate I was just
[6:09]
observing him cuz I knew he'd be coming
[6:11]
out this man he almost walked to the um
[6:14]
the docks and then he saw me and he
[6:16]
pivoted and he walked towards me and
[6:18]
he's got to walk you know a good
[6:20]
football length to get to me and I'm
[6:23]
just watching him with you know
[6:24]
listening to my music and stuff just
[6:26]
sitting there like um just just you know
[6:30]
just being myself and
[6:32]
he's he's coming closer and I'm like oh
[6:35]
we're actually doing this I said that
[6:36]
out loud because I I couldn't believe it
[6:38]
I was like this man actually has the
[6:39]
cars to come off here and talk to me and
[6:41]
so he's coming up he gets close I give
[6:44]
him a peace sign he barely acknowledges
[6:46]
it he's he's like oh man you just
[6:49]
acknowledged me like this was a problem
[6:51]
for him and then he not just very very
[6:55]
briefly and then he gets closer and I
[6:57]
say hello you know I take my earbuds out
[7:00]
and everything I'm already having a chat
[7:01]
with this guy see who is this you know
[7:04]
and um he just squeaks out the the
[7:08]
tiniest little high as he looked at me
[7:11]
and I was just like oh I I don't even
[7:13]
know what to De with this like I just
[7:14]
don't know so uh he passed he went on to
[7:17]
the dunes and that was it but man that
[7:19]
was a moment it's like I'm still
[7:21]
thinking about the next day because
[7:24]
there was
[7:25]
just that was just wild to me so yeah
[7:29]
I'm going to leave it at that I got so
[7:30]
much to do today it's my last day
[7:33]
um um of work volunteer work this week
[7:36]
and then I got a couple days off so I
[7:39]
think I discovered so I've been having
[7:42]
really bad sinus issues since January
[7:45]
and it occurred to me that everywhere
[7:47]
I've been the different Parks I
[7:48]
volunteered at right now during this
[7:50]
period have all been in the dunes region
[7:53]
so there's something specific about this
[7:56]
region something that's blooming in
[7:58]
Winter that
[8:00]
um was really affecting me I'm wondering
[8:02]
if I get away from this area if it'll go
[8:04]
away I'm very curious to find out now
[8:08]
so
[8:09]
yeah cuz you know I come to the the
[8:12]
coast I fall in love with the ocean that
[8:14]
the trees try to kill me that's messed
[8:16]
up so but maybe it's just the dunes area
[8:20]
maybe I'll get lucky cuz I don't really
[8:21]
plan to ever come back here
[8:23]
so yeah it's going to
[8:27]
um it's going to be a fun I just know it
[8:30]
is I can't wait to get started
