[0:01]
That right there is my home. I live in a
[0:05]
box. From the outside, it looks pretty
[0:10]
big. Looks pretty
[0:14]
nice. Don't be fooled. It's
[0:18]
small. I think it's supposedly something
[0:21]
like 200 square
[0:23]
ft, but it's even less than that because
[0:26]
my slide is broken and has been for a
[0:28]
very long time.
[0:30]
I sleep in an al
[0:32]
cove half the size of a normal bed. Too
[0:36]
short for me. Been sleeping that way
[0:40]
for at least 6 months. Probably eight or
[0:45]
nine. My back hurts because of
[0:48]
it every
[0:51]
day. But I don't really complain about
[0:54]
it. Don't really even think about it.
[0:57]
It's just one of the things that I
[0:58]
navigate to live this
[1:01]
way. My living
[1:05]
space. This is very uncomfortable. There
[1:08]
are three little ottomans in there that
[1:10]
I keep my clothes inside of and
[1:11]
sometimes I sit on top of those.
[1:14]
I have a desktop computer next to
[1:16]
it and I would just put my keyboard and
[1:20]
mouse on top of the ottomans and just
[1:21]
sit sort of
[1:25]
cross-legged work that
[1:28]
way. Other side is my kitchen. Got a
[1:32]
sink and a stove that I don't use cuz
[1:34]
I'm not very good at cooking at all. I
[1:37]
never have been.
[1:39]
But I have a Ninja Foodie that I set on
[1:41]
top of it and I would use that to make
[1:43]
hamburgers and to toast bagels in the
[1:46]
morning. It's pretty much how I've lived
[1:49]
for many, many, many
[1:53]
months. I have a bathroom with a shower.
[1:56]
It's pretty nice shower, I think, but it
[2:00]
will fill up my tanks very quickly if I
[2:02]
were to use it. Maybe could shower twice
[2:04]
before they're full.
[2:08]
That's my home and I love
[2:11]
it. I'm grateful that I have
[2:16]
it. If it sounds like I'm complaining,
[2:18]
I'm not. I'm just naming
[2:24]
reality. I've lived in this thing for a
[2:26]
whole
[2:27]
year. This Friday is my birthday. I'll
[2:30]
be 48 years
[2:32]
old. and I moved into this thing on my
[2:34]
47th birthday. Went to my first state
[2:37]
campground in Kentucky on that
[2:41]
day. It was a brave day, scary day, an
[2:46]
exciting
[2:48]
day, somewhat comical day, cuz as soon
[2:50]
as I got there, my cats escaped the RV.
[2:53]
I had to track them down. That was
[2:57]
terrifying. And so much has happened
[2:59]
since then.
[3:02]
Two weeks after I got this thing, I went
[3:04]
to my next state campground in Tennessee
[3:07]
and I withdrew from Tramodol, an opiate
[3:09]
that I've been taking for
[3:11]
years, 180 milligrams a
[3:14]
day because of my dental health. I wore
[3:18]
dentures,
[3:20]
implants for the first six months of my
[3:22]
journey on YouTube. I didn't even have
[3:24]
teeth and I still recorded and I shared
[3:27]
my life with everybody.
[3:30]
authentic content, real content, because
[3:32]
I wanted people to see what it looked
[3:34]
like to reach the
[3:36]
bottom and choose to be
[3:40]
brave or risk
[3:43]
everything to try to create a life that
[3:46]
you would be happy
[3:47]
living. And that is what I did. I moved
[3:51]
across the country. I'm in Oregon now.
[3:53]
I'm on the Oregon coast, less than a
[3:55]
mile from the ocean.
[3:58]
I fell in love with that
[4:00]
ocean. I don't ever want to be parted
[4:03]
from it
[4:05]
now. I did so much. I quit
[4:09]
smoking. I quit um clonopin which is a
[4:13]
anti-anxiet anti- anxiety medicine cuz I
[4:17]
had anxiety very bad. I used to have
[4:19]
panic attacks. Started when I was 27 for
[4:22]
20 years.
[4:26]
I don't take any medications anymore.
[4:28]
Nothing except for sinus medication cuz
[4:30]
the coastal trees are um are killing me.
[4:34]
But this hasn't been
[4:36]
working.
[4:40]
Pseudafed ground. Like I've been trying
[4:42]
different sinus medicines and nothing's
[4:45]
really helping.
[4:46]
But I'm managing. That's the only thing
[4:49]
I take. I don't even take ibuprofen that
[4:53]
often cuz I took care of my health. I
[4:56]
lost 25 30 lbs. I weigh 150 right
[5:00]
now. I'm in the best shape of my
[5:04]
life. I hike anywhere from 5 to 10 miles
[5:07]
a
[5:09]
day. I have an active life, a good life.
[5:16]
But I ran out of money because I'd been
[5:17]
living on my savings. And when that
[5:20]
happened, I tried to pivot. I started
[5:23]
volunteering for the state parks here in
[5:24]
Oregon. Did that for three months and I
[5:27]
loved it. And I built a life around it.
[5:29]
I had my whole year planned around it.
[5:30]
The whole next um eight months, the end
[5:33]
of the year,
[5:34]
December, different state parks all
[5:37]
along the coast. And they kicked me out.
[5:41]
Not because I did anything wrong because
[5:43]
I did not, but because
[5:46]
I have self-respect and I didn't let one
[5:49]
of their
[5:50]
um park supervisors disrespect me. I
[5:54]
said something and I said it in a very
[5:57]
calm, very strategic,
[6:01]
very professional way. I just said that
[6:04]
response made me feel very small. Those
[6:06]
were my exact words.
[6:09]
And for two months, the leadership at
[6:12]
that park tortured me. And I documented
[6:15]
it the whole two months. I recorded an
[6:18]
hourong conversation that they had with
[6:20]
me down at their day use area where they
[6:21]
bullied me the whole time. where they
[6:23]
told me they never gave me the benefit
[6:25]
of the
[6:26]
doubt, where they tried to convince me
[6:29]
to
[6:30]
leave at the very end of that
[6:33]
conversation, where they just tried to
[6:34]
gaslight me the whole
[6:36]
time, where they told me to eat
[6:42]
glass. And still they kicked me out and
[6:46]
I had to figure out what am I going to
[6:48]
do now. So now I'm living offrid. I'm on
[6:51]
a National Forest campground with no
[6:54]
power, no
[6:55]
water, nothing in my RV works right
[7:00]
now. My water pump doesn't work, so no
[7:03]
water. My fridge doesn't work. So, no
[7:05]
food, no power, so no computers to do
[7:09]
work. Um, no
[7:12]
lights, no heat, nothing.
[7:18]
All of this after documenting my life in
[7:21]
public for over a year, nearly 700
[7:26]
videos. Finally, I asked my audience for
[7:29]
help and one person showed up. They gave
[7:32]
me $100 and another person sent me $20.
[7:36]
That's everything that that's all the
[7:37]
help I've
[7:39]
received. I've been asking for help for
[7:42]
weeks now.
[7:49]
I don't have
[7:52]
words. I don't understand
[7:55]
it. How could
[8:03]
I? That's where I am today.
