[0:00]
So, I'm planning to do something today.
[0:04]
It's a pretty big deal for me. And I got
[0:06]
to thinking that's the kind of thing
[0:09]
that people would put on YouTube. It's
[0:13]
I'm building a desk in my RV. That's the
[0:15]
kind of thing people put on YouTube.
[0:18]
It's kind of thing I might have put on
[0:19]
YouTube in the past
[0:22]
for different reasons.
[0:24]
And so, I resisted it at first. So I was
[0:26]
like, eh,
[0:28]
didn't really think about it after that,
[0:29]
but it's been a while. And then got to
[0:32]
thinking,
[0:35]
this is a big deal because it's not just
[0:37]
about a desk. It's about making my life
[0:39]
better in here. I have been programming
[0:42]
sitting on these ottomans here
[0:46]
looking at I should have turned the
[0:48]
camera, but looking at this over here,
[0:51]
it's on the floor. Let me just turn the
[0:52]
camera. So this is my ottomans and it's
[0:55]
just you know this is just the worst
[0:57]
setup imaginable. This is how I have
[0:59]
been programming
[1:01]
and when I'm not doing that I'm working
[1:03]
on my laptop over here on my bed. These
[1:06]
are all my clean clothes from yesterday
[1:07]
that I didn't fold. I really got to deal
[1:09]
with that. It's cuz living in an RV is
[1:12]
hard. It really is for me. I This isn't
[1:19]
This isn't conducive to structure. I
[1:21]
don't know how else to say this.
[1:25]
So
[1:28]
yeah,
[1:32]
my hat kind of appeared briefly and
[1:34]
that's a problem because I can't be seen
[1:36]
in my Forest Service hat
[1:39]
um on video, especially posting it
[1:42]
because then it looks like I'm
[1:46]
um like the Forest Service is endorsing
[1:48]
the video, which they're not. So I, you
[1:50]
know, I tried to be very conscious of
[1:52]
that. The second I realized the hat I
[1:54]
was wearing, I kind of froze for a
[1:56]
second there, thinking, well, now I
[1:58]
can't even post this. So,
[2:01]
um,
[2:03]
that sucks cuz I'm just trying to live
[2:06]
my life and share it authentically. And
[2:09]
I'm using all of this this video that
[2:11]
I'm capturing as
[2:15]
as data for AI for a system I'm
[2:19]
building. And
[2:21]
it's important that I document my life
[2:23]
authentically.
[2:26]
So
[2:29]
I guess this one stays unlisted.
[2:32]
Maybe one day I can post it.
[2:35]
Um,
[2:37]
yeah, I guess we evolve my
[2:39]
infrastructure and
[2:41]
some of my videos just have to remain
[2:44]
private
[2:46]
until some future date and then
[2:50]
I can make those available too. But
[2:51]
then, you know, that way I'm exploring
[2:54]
both past at the same time. That's how
[2:55]
I'm going to explain that. I'm I'm done
[2:58]
trying to explain myself to other
[2:59]
people. I know that there's nothing
[3:01]
wrong with the way I speak. AI can
[3:04]
understand me perfectly if I um if I see
[3:07]
the model a certain way and you know I'm
[3:10]
trying to train a new AI model to just
[3:13]
naturally exist in that space with me.
[3:16]
There's nothing wrong with the way I
[3:17]
speak. I know that people don't get me.
[3:21]
This is no longer my problem. I need to
[3:24]
be true to myself so that I can keep
[3:26]
evolving because that's what's
[3:28]
happening. Um I have a lot going on.
[3:32]
Life is
[3:33]
not easy for me.
[3:37]
You know, I'm broke. I have not figured
[3:39]
out how to solve that.
[3:43]
I know that all the common paths people
[3:45]
could take. I could go get a [ __ ] job
[3:47]
at a grocery store. I understand that.
[3:48]
But I don't want to do that. I could get
[3:50]
on Upwork and start bidding on jobs, but
[3:52]
I don't want to do that because I don't
[3:55]
want to deal with a bunch of a bunch of
[3:57]
chaos and noise and distortion and
[3:59]
[ __ ] doing that all my life.
[4:02]
When I decided to move into this RV, I
[4:05]
was living a different way. And
[4:08]
that hasn't changed. The world just
[4:10]
hasn't caught up to me yet. And that's
[4:13]
how I'm looking at it.
[4:19]
I could lose my RV. I have
[4:23]
a weeks to come up with
[4:27]
a lot of money.
[4:31]
And
[4:33]
If I could find the right job,
[4:36]
I'd solve that very fast.
[4:43]
I really like what I'm doing with the
[4:46]
work that I'm doing now. I think it's
[4:48]
important work and I want to keep
[4:50]
working on it
[4:52]
for so many reasons.
[4:59]
So, I wasn't really planning on
[5:04]
recursively working our way to this
[5:06]
subject, but I guess that's where we
[5:08]
are. Going to build a desk today. It's
[5:11]
going to give me a place to work on my
[5:14]
my work. Um,
[5:18]
and a lot better comfort than I am right
[5:20]
now. Even if it means standing at that
[5:22]
desk because I don't have a chair. Can't
[5:24]
afford a chair.
[5:26]
It'll give me extra space. Uh, I'll have
[5:29]
a vertical um thing that I can put my
[5:32]
monitor on. Could put my coffee maker
[5:35]
over here. I could get a toaster. You
[5:36]
know, I could just make my life better
[5:38]
and then have the space underneath of
[5:40]
it. Might even just keep the ottomans
[5:42]
for now, but eventually turn that into
[5:45]
cubbies or something. You know, make the
[5:47]
space feel like home and work for me,
[5:50]
not against me.
[5:54]
But of course that leads leads to the
[5:56]
layer that
[5:58]
somehow I have to hold on to this place
[6:00]
too.
[6:03]
I couldn't get help from my audience. I
[6:06]
tried multiple times over the course of
[6:09]
the last 18 months and
[6:13]
I just completely tuned out for me.
[6:20]
So,
[6:22]
I only have myself and truly just
[6:26]
myself.
[6:28]
[Music]
[6:30]
And I don't think that we're supposed to
[6:31]
work that way. I never have. I
[6:36]
think that it matters. Your
[6:38]
relationships matter that you have
[6:41]
support,
[6:43]
community, structure, relationships, and
[6:47]
it feels like the world is just
[6:50]
completely decoupled itself from
[6:55]
everything that matters to me. And
[7:02]
yeah, I
[7:07]
still working through what all of that
[7:09]
means. So,
[7:18]
I don't know. I'll leave it at that.
