Trace recording uses your device's GPS to plot your route. Tap Allow and Android will ask you for these permissions in turn:
- • Location (required) — needed to record the route. Without it we can't record a trace at all.
- • Background location (optional) — keeps recording active when you switch apps or lock your phone. Without it, recording pauses whenever the app isn't on screen.
- • Notifications (optional) — lets you pause, resume, or stop a recording from the notification shade. Without it the recording still works, you just have to open the app to control it.
To turn this on, open device settings and grant Location for Autonomy Realms, then come back and try again.
A recording was interrupted before it finished. You can resume it, save what's recorded so far, or discard it.

Autonomy Realms can read GPS coordinates from photos so they appear on the map exactly where they were taken. Android requires a one-time permission ("media location") for this — without it, the OS strips GPS data before we can read it.
This is optional. If you skip it, photos will still upload — they just won't carry their original location, and you can set the signal's location manually instead.
To turn this on, open device settings and grant Photos and videos → Allow access to media location for Autonomy Realms, then come back and try again.
We'll ask your device for its current GPS coordinates and fill in the signal's location for you. The reading happens once — we don't track you afterwards.
Location is currently denied for Autonomy Realms. Open device settings and grant Location, then come back and try again — or set the location manually with the inputs above.
Allow notifications and we'll show a progress notification while your signal uploads, so you can track and pause it from the shade even when the app isn't on screen.
This is optional. If you skip it, the upload still runs in the background — you just won't see a notification.
